Freestyle & Park Camp (Ages 10-15)

Price: $99

Group Lesson - 12pm - 3pm on Sunday, March 13, 2022

Add-On Options:
Youth All Mountain Lift Ticket - $35

Kick off spring with a spotlight on freestyle! This one day camp is all about giving participants a taste of freestyle and creating the confidence to explore the world of freestyle terrain from sculpted jumps, rails and boxes to natural features all over the mountain. Coaches will focus on building freestyle skills with campers using an “Outside-In” approach, working on skills and movements in comfortable, low consequence environments, and then taking those skills to the park and features they are working toward. Campers will gain a better understanding of park etiquette and how to use different features appropriately, but with creativity and fun being the central theme. Campers will have the opportunity to opt in on the challenges that are within their comfort zone throughout the session. While the goal is to challenge everyone and build new skills, doing so at a pace that works for each individual is a huge part of our approach

Camp will run from 12pm-3pm for snowboarders and skiers age 10-15 years. Snowboarders should be able to comfortably link heel and toe side S-turns, on blue to black runs. Skiers should be comfortable making mostly parallel turns on blue to black runs. Groups will be available for beginner and intermediate skiers and riders. Discounted lift tickets are available for camp participants. Please contact the Snowsports School at skischool@ski49n.com with questions.

Telemark Clinics
Have you ever watched a telemark skier flow down the hill and think “I’d love to do that”? Are you a self-taught tele skier that wants to explore new terrain? Seeking a new challenge to make easier terrain difficult again as you try something new? Regardless of ability or time spent on telemark gear, we are offering a 3-clinic series this season! Come explore the free heel world with our certified telemark instructors and broaden your horizons.

The goals and desires of the group each day will determine content, but an introduction for new telemark skiers will be available as well as a focus for those already sliding on free heeled gear. Lift ticket or pass required to participate in lesson.

3 Hour Group Lesson Price: $99
Lesson Times: 9:30am - 12:30pm

Telemark Clinic Dates: Jan 23, Feb 13, March 20

January 23rd – Early season primer with video
This first clinic will serve as the early season warm up, complete with activities to get your movements and balance in tune. Review of basic telemark fundamentals that apply to all levels of skiing will occur. Video will be part of the day, with a review to follow.

February 13th – Intro to Powder/crud, the ungroomed stuff
February brings some of the biggest snow totals, so this clinic will focus on an intro to
powder/crud, depending on the conditions of the day. Whether on green terrain or sliding down Klondike or Valhalla, activities will focus on how to telemark ski when the snow is piled up. Video will be part of the day, with review afterward.

March 20th – Intro to either tele carving or off-piste/bumps/steeps
To wrap up the sessions, this clinic will be focused on un-groomed terrain. Tactics and techniques for dealing with the uneven surface will be explored on all types of terrain to help
you manage the variations that exist when we slide. Video will again be part of the day, with review afterward.
