Junior Instructor Program

Program Guidelines 2025-2026

  • The program consists of 2 on-snow training days, online educational training and 6+ real world experience days.
  • This program is for skiers and snowboarders between the ages of 12-15. Junior Instructors can become full-fledged instructors at 16 years of age.
  • Junior instructors should be able to ski or ride at an intermediate level.
    • Skiers should be able to link parallel turns on blue terrain.
    • Snowboarders should be able to link turns on their toes & heels on blue terrain.
  • Junior Instructors must have a season pass or puchase lift tickets to be eligible for the program.
  • Junior Instructors are not expected to check-in or volunteer on non-commitment days.
  • Junior instructors will be expected to check in with their coaches at 9:30am on their commitment days. They will have a lunch break daily from 12pm-1pm.
  • Junior Instructors will be provided with an armband to be worn during lesson shadows designating them as a junior instructor. The armband is to remain at the resort and be picked up and dropped off after lessons.

Registration for the 25-26 season will be available in October 2025.

 

Training Dates

Junior Instructors will work with our training staff to develop their own personal ski/riding ability in addition to covering safety training, how to work with & teach children, basic biomechanics & movement analysis, how & why your skis/snowboard works the way they do. During training Junior instructors will also get the opportunity to explore and learn the mountain better with their coaches.

Lesson Shadow Dates

Junior Instructors will shadow a morning and afternoon kid's group lesson with an experienced instructor. On lesson shadow days, Junior instructors will be expected to check in with their coaches at 9:30am on their commitment days. They will have a lunch break daily from 12pm-1pm.

Participants are also eligible to participate in advanced training opportunities with instructor staff. If available, these clinics will begin at 3pm

Lesson Shadow days will be available on weekends and holidays in December, January, and February.

Available shadow dates will be announced prior to training.

 

Program Cost & Cancellation

Training: $99 covers the cost of your 2 training days focusing on education and personal ski/ride development.

Season Pass: Participants who complete training are eligible to purchase a $99 Season Pass. Free lift tickets will be provided for on-snow training prior to pass issuance.

This pass in non-refundable and non-transferable. The pass can be invalidated at any time by the program staff due to attendance or behavioral issues.

*Existing season passes cannot be refunded for this season. Deferrals are possible before Nov 1st.

Refunds & Cancellations

Students may cancel 10 days before the start of the program with no penalty. Given the highly discounted nature of program, no refunds will be issued once the program has begun.
